The Italian Association of Methylmalonic Acidemia with Homocystinuria cblC APS, on the occasion of Christmas 2025, from 1 to 31 December 2025, will launch a fundraising campaign with an initiative called “Christmas Campaign 2025” to raise funds for the Association’s institutional projects, in particular for the research projects that are periodically selected.
The initiative will mainly consist of awareness-raising activities and solicitation of donations from member families.
The fundraising items will include Gianduiotti and Calendars (themed “My City”).
The funds raised, net of total expenses incurred, will be used (as per the Statute and based on the nomenclature contained in Article 5 of the CTS) for the following activities of general interest and for the following purposes:
i) social interventions and services pursuant to Article 1, paragraphs 1 and 2, of Law No. 328 of November 8, 2000, as amended, and interventions, services, and benefits pursuant to Law No. 104 of February 5, 1992, and Law No. 112 of June 22, 2016, as amended; ii) healthcare interventions and services; iii) social and healthcare services pursuant to the Prime Ministerial Decree of February 14, 2001, published in the Official Journal No. 129 of June 6, 2001, as amended; iv) education, instruction, and vocational training pursuant to Law No. 53 of March 28, 2003, as amended, as well as cultural activities of social interest with educational purposes; (v) organization and management of cultural, artistic, or recreational activities of social interest, including activities, including editorial ones, for the promotion and dissemination of culture and the practice of volunteering and activities of general interest referred to in this Article; (vi) charity, distance support, free provision of food or products pursuant to Law No. 166 of August 19, 2016, as amended, or provision of money, goods, or services to support disadvantaged persons or activities of general interest pursuant to this Article, with particular regard to support for scientific research.
The Association in particular pursues the following activities of general interest:
a) promoting and supporting research activities and projects aimed at improving the knowledge, diagnosis and treatment of Methylmalonic Acidemia with Homocystinuria cblC;
b) raising awareness and informing the public on issues relevant to its objectives and promoting greater knowledge of Methylmalonic Acidemia with Homocystinuria cblC;
c) urging political authorities to adopt appropriate measures to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of Methylmalonic Acidemia with Homocystinuria cblC;
d) promoting, at national and international level, the exchange of information and data, including through the creation of an internal database to be shared with research institutions and organizations;
e) promoting projects aimed at improving the quality of life of patients and their families, including through the creation of a network that allows for mutual support and the exchange of experiences;
f) promoting the autonomy and social integration of patients, removing any discriminatory barriers;
g) encouraging “after us” policies.
